844 million people do not have access to clean water.
Every year 8.6 billion cubic meters of drinkable water are lost through leaks by existing water pipe systems. Water supplies and infrastructure are under pressure from changing weather patterns, pollutions and damaged from overuse. Non-revenue water (NRW) and water losses are not being accounted for, causing communities to live in water deprivation and some on the verge of scarcity. While other industries are increasingly using data to improve their performances, the water management stays analog and significantly behind. There is a need to make the water industry jump into to a post-digital era to build its capacity addressing the challenges of the increasing demand, water scarcity, and environmental and climate change issues associated to the sector.
